Teej Song and Volleyball Competition from Tuesday

Pokhara News, Aug 19 –

The Open Teej Song and Volleyball Competition is taking place from Tuesday coinciding with the advent of the festival of Hari Talika Teej.

The Bagmara Yuva Sangam Group in Kaski is organizing the event at Pani Tanki Bagmara in Pokhara – Lekhnath Metropolitan City – 33 from August 22 to 24, Group’s Chairman and Competition Coordinator, Pramod Acharya shared.

The three-day event will also feature entertainment sporting competitions as breaking down clay vessels, rope tugging competition and performances from comedians.

The winner, first – runner up and second – runner up in the Teej Song competition will be awarded Rs 20,000, Rs 12,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively. The organizers have set Rs 3,000 as consolation prize.

In the volleyball tournament, the winner, first – runner up and second – runner up will take home Rs 40,000, Rs 25,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. RSS

Prachanda urged to take CPN (MC)-CPN (UML) unity process to logical end

Kathmandu, Dec 19 (RSS):

CPN (Maoist Centre) chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has been urged to immediately take the unification process between the party and CPN (UML) to a logical conclusion.

A joint delegation from the both political parties’ youth wings–Youth Association of Nepal and Young Communist League (YCL)–reached the Dahal’s private residence at Lazimpat to congratulate him on the majority victory of the left alliance in the recent elections to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies, took the time to call on him to give a meaning to such achievements.

The delegation insisted that the party unification issue should get a logical to prove the electoral victory meaningful.
The victory of the left alliance in the election to the House of Representatives and State Assemblies was the reflection of notion that ‘unity is strength’, they said, calling upon Dahal to take the leadership for ensuring political stability and bringing economic progress to the country.

Stating that the Nepali people endorsed the left alliance through the recent polls, they urged Dahal to commence ‘meaningful’ dialogues for the unification, according to YCL chair Ram Prasad Sapkota. In response, leader Dahal informed the delegation that efforts are in place to institutionalize the endorsement of the left alliance from the people’s level.

“People’s mandate that the left alliance got through the elections has already become the people’s property, and support and cooperation from every quarter is required to take the unification process to a logical end,” Dahal said.
He further pledged to leave no stone unturned to pay back the people for their valuable ballots by meeting their aspirations for peace, political stability and economic prosperity. Underlining the vital role of youths to change the fate of the nation, he was hopeful of achievements capable of revamping Nepal with a couple of years.

YAN chair Rajib Pahadi requested Dahal to make initiations for the meaningful unity between two political parties.
YCL is the youth wing of the Maoist Centre while YAN is the youth wing of the UML.

Likewise, intellectuals and professionals from different walks of life honoured Dahal today applauding him for his contributions to making the left alliance victorious in the elections.

Police bust six gamblers in a raid at private residence in Pokhara

 

Pokhara News, Sept 19 –

The District Police Office, Kaski has arrested six gamblers following a raid at a private residence here.

The police team acted on a tip – off and raided Shamsher Gurung’s residence at Tutunga of Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City – 15 where the gamblers had gathered.

Bal Krishna Gurung, Om Bahadur Gurung, Iman Singh Gurung from ward no 16 and Sher Bahadur Gurung from ward no 1 in Bagar and Yam Bahadur Gurung from ward no 14 in Chauthe including the owner of the house, Shamsher Gurung, were taken into custody, Police Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Khatri said.

The police also seized Rs 226,615 in cash. The gamblers were remanded for further investigation after an order from the Kaski District Court. RSS

Woman dupes Rs 400 million in Pokhara

 

Pokhara News, Sept 4 –

A woman living at Chauthe in Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City-14 has absconded after cheating Rs 400 million from entrepreneurs, relatives and neighbours.

Spokesperson of District Police Office, Kaski, Khadga Bahadur Khatri said that 42-year-old Dev Kumari Bhujel, a permanent resident of Bhatkhola in Syangja, duped 53 persons after collecting money from them for almost one and a half decade.

Pramila Ranabhat of Birauta in the town said that Bhujel cheated Rs 20 million from her adding that she found Bhujel a trusted one during the transaction for the past 15 years.

Likewise, Nirmala Sharma Parajuli of Syangja and currently living in Bagale Tole in Pokhara also claimed that Bhujel duped her Rs 9 million that she provided to Bhujel from her own and her brother.

The women who were duped by the fraudster have lodged an application at the District Police Office after they learnt that the woman had escaped along with her family. RSS
