Chinese delegation visits Pokhara

Pokhara News, June 10:

A delegation from China comprising litterateurs and artists that arrived here at an invitation of Nepal Academy visited Thamel, capital’s tourist hub, and Pokhara Saturday.

The six-member delegation headed by Chief of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Sun Jiazheng made a trip of various heritages and tourist destinations. The trip was arranged by the Academy itself with a view to familiarising them with the Nepali art and culture.

Earlier on Friday, the delegation renewed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the bilateral literary and cultural exchange programme for the upcoming five years. The MoU that was signed on December 30, 2011 was said to be beneficial for both neighbours.

According to Academy Chancellor Ganga Prasad Upreti, such type of visit would be significant to promote the age-old cultural ties existing between the two close neighbours at the people’s level and in view of cultural studies as well.

The delegation arrived on a three-day visit is scheduled to return home Sunday after visiting the Bhaleshwor Temple based in Chandragiri, Swoyambhunath, and Bouddha. RSS
